Bar & Restaurant in Tuncurry NSW
Hamiltons Oysters is a locally owned and family run business using fresh produce and more importantly our own harvested oysters, fresh from our farm on Wallis Lake (subject to seasonal availability or from other local estuaries at other times).
We offer a relaxed All Day Dining Experience for those long lazy lunches or dinner, and breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays and everyday during the school holidays. Overlooking Wallis Lake in Tuncurry, we are the only venue offering all day dining and casual marina berths for your convenience – free of charge to patrons.
Our menu is not just oysters. We offer something for everyone, with children always welcome.
With an extensive drinks menu, including an ever changing tap beer selection, a wide wine selection as well as an interesting cocktail menu, serving Gabriel espresso coffee, there is always something to entice you, while enjoying the fabulous view from inside or on the deck. Enjoy the visual display with the various bird-life and regular visit by pods of dolphins, which never cease to excite.
We look forward to seeing you!
Amazing staff, view and food. Very happy customers who were part of a large group with young children. Nothing a problem and the food and cocktails- very impressed! Not overly expensive either. Will be going again for sure. Yum! Would be great for a function as well, e.g. small wedding.
Holidaying for a few days in Tuncurry, we found Hamiltons on the last day. Heading for the oyster bar/take away section, we discovered the restaurant door and went in. This section is not well signed. Having a late lunch around 3pm on rainy 10th June. We had a mix of 18 oysters followed by the special, crispy skin salmon on sweet potato slices which just melted in the mouth, along with bottle of wine. Total $165 incl tip. We had excellent service and the food was delicious. Unfortunately we rarely visit the Tuncurry-Forster area, but would definitely make sure we had time to return to Hamiltons if there again. Highly recommend this restaurant and it can only get better, situated on the lakes.
Went here for dinner this week and going back again. Didn’t know it existed until we were walking back over the bridge and saw it. My partner had the beef cheeks delicious and melted in the mouth. I had the carpet bag steak medium rare unfortunately it was med to well done. It was still very tender so didn’t complain. We were enjoying watching the slide show of Tuncurry forster and the building of Hamiltons when the waitress sat a mother and child at the table under it and turned the TV off. As the restaurant wasn’t any where near full there were lots of other tables these people could’ve been sat. Also being a cold winters night more heating would’ve been good.
We have visited Hamiltons on several occasions the latest being with our family. The location is sensational overlooking Wallis Lakes. The menu is comprehensive and slanted towards both locals and visitors to our region. Prices and mid range with the food of excellent quantity and quality.
